Mae'n anodd credu fod tymor arall wedi gwibio heibio. Rydym wedi mwynhau dysgu am yr hyn sydd tu hwnt i'n planed ni, gan ddysgu am blanedau eraill, pam ein bod yn cael Dydd a Nos, ac am feintiau a phellteroedd cymharol y Ddaear, y Lleuad a'r Haul. Bum hefyd yn dysgu am losgfynyddoedd - yn wir, bu i ni brofi echdoriadau llosgfynyddoedd bach yn ein dosbarthiadau ni! Roedd pawb wrth eu boddau yn creu llosgfynyddoedd o glai, finegr a phowdr soda ac yn arsylwi’r ‘lafa’ wrth iddynt ffrwydro! Roedd yr athrawon yn falch iawn ohonom am lunio diagramau ac ysgrifennu esboniad o losgfynyddoedd, yn enwedig yng nghanol prysurdeb y cyngherddau, calendrau a chardiau Nadolig! Bu pawb yn brysur yn creu calendrau arbennig wythnos yma, gan ddefnyddio inc i farblo patrwm arallfydol fel cefndir i'w calendrau; maent yn edrych yn anhygoel! Fel rhan o'n gwaith thema, bum yn gwrando ac yn gwerthuso cerddoriaeth ‘Y Planedau’ gan Gustav Holst, yna yn cymharu’r gân ‘Jupiter’ gyda’r gân fodern ‘World in Union’, fersiwn Katherine Jenkins. Mae Blwyddyn 3 a 4 wrth eu boddau yn gwrando ar gerddoriaeth glasurol, yn ogystal â cherddoriaeth fwy modern! Rydym hefyd yn dal i ganu caneuon y cyngerdd Nadolig - roeddem wrth ein boddau yn gwisgo i fyny fel ser bach y nos, milwyr, a siwmperi Nadolig!
Er mwyn paratoi at ein thema cyffrous tymor nesaf, sef Celtiaid V Rhufeiniaid, rydym wedi bod yn trafod a holi cwestiynau. Rydym wedi bod yn cyfrannu at ein Padlet dosbarth er mwyn gofyn cwestiynau am beth hoffem wybod a'i ddysgu am y Celtiaid a'r Rhufeiniaid y tymor nesaf. Bydd hyn yn helpu'r athrawon i gynllunio ar gyfer y thema, ac yn rhoi cyfle i ni ateb ein cwestiynau ein hunain wrth i ni ddysgu mwy a mwy am y Celtiaid a'r Rhufeinaid. Ewch i'n tudalen dosbarth er mwyn gweld trosolwg o'r hyn y byddwn yn ei ddysgu yn Nhymor y Gwanwyn.
Wow, it's hard to believe another term has flown by once again. Recently, we have been learning about Space, comparing the relative sizes and distances between the Earth, the Moon and the Sun. We have also explored other planets, creating pages and power points conveying information learned about some of the planets. We had lots of fun last week creating our very own erupting volcanoes! Following instructions closely, we created the erupting volcanoes using kitchen staples such as an egg cup, vinegar and bi-carb of soda! Our teachers were extremely proud of our diagrams and scientific explanations of volcanoes, especially in the madness of Christmas Concerts and creating Christmas cards! We have also been working creatively using marbling ink to create our unique space calendars - they truly are out of this world!
As part of our work on space, Year 3 and 4 have also been listening to ‘The Planets’ music by Gustav Holst, and have been evaluating his classical music, and comparing the ‘Jupiter’ piece with the modern song ‘World in Union’ performed by Katherine Jenkins. We are all developing a real love for classical music as well as modern inspirational songs such as World in Union.
Our Christmas Concert songs can still be heard echoing around the school corridors, we really enjoyed dressing up as little stars, soldiers, and of course wearing our Christmas jumpers!
We are now looking forward to our next theme, which is Celts V Romans. Our teachers have been asking for our contributions and questions as they plan for our next term. This week we have been asking questions using the Padlet website, and are looking forward to hopefully answering these questions as we learn about the Celts and Romans next term!
