Mae’r Nadolig yn brysur agosau, ac rydym nawr yn dod i ben gyda’n thema ‘Byw’n Iach.’ Yn ein gwersi yn ddiweddar, bu i ni bendroni dros nifer o gwestiynau gwyddonol a moesol yn ymwneud â meintiau cymharol ein organau yn ogystal â phroffiliau wahanol gymeriadau oedd angen trawsblaniad. Yn ein gwersi Celf, bu i ni greu ‘collage’ am yr Hydref, yn cyd-fynd â chyfansoddiad ‘Four Seasons’ Vivaldi. Roedd cyfle i arbrofi a defnyddio wahanol ddeunyddiau, gan gynnwys deunyddiau naturiol megis dail a brigau a.y.b. Cawsom b’nawn gwych hefyd gyda Lowri Mitton a Wendy Swan yn actio Stori’r Geni a chynnal sesiwn cwestiwn ac ateb gyda Mair a Joseph!Rydym nawr yn brysur yn paratoi ein cardiau a’n calendrau Nadolig gan wrando ar garolau Nadoligaidd!
Ar gyfer ein thema y tymor nesaf, byddwn yn ‘Teithio’n ôl mewn amser’ i oes y Cestyll a’r Tywysogion. Byddwn yn dysgu Chwedl ‘Gelert’ ar ffurf Pie Corbett ac yn astudio bywyd Llywelyn Fawr. Cawn graffu ar fywydau’r bobl oedd yn byw ac yn gweithio yno ac agweddau o fywyd tu ôl i’r muriau trwchus, gan gynnwys addysg, hylendid ac adloniant yn ystod y cyfnod. Byddwn yn ymchwilio i wahanol fathau o gestyll ac yn ystyried sut y penderfynwyd ble i’w lleoli.
Daliwch yn dyn i’ch seti - mae gennym daith cyffrous yn ôl yn ein peiriant amser!
Christmas is quickly approaching, and we are coming to the end of our ‘Living Healthily’ topic. Recently, we pondered over various scientific and moral questions, relating to the comparative sizes of our organs as well as the character profiles of people needing transplants. In our art lessons, we have been creating an autumnal collage, depicting the ideas and tones represented in Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons.’ We enjoyed experimenting with and using various materials, including natural materials such as leaves and branches. We had a wonderful afternoon with Lowri Mitton and Wendy Swan acting out the Nativity and holding a question and answers session with Mary and Joseph! We are now busy preparing our Christmas cards and calendars whilst listening to Christmas carols!
For our topic next term, we will become ‘Time Travellers’ traveling back to a fascinating period in history; the period of Castles and Princes. We will be using the Pie Corbett method to learn the fable ‘Gelert’ and will learn about the life of Llywelyn the Great. We will also be taking a peak through castle doors, at the people who lived and worked there, as well as aspects of life during this period including education, health and hygiene and entertainment. As we study various styles of castles, we will also consider why those locations were chosen as suitable sites for Welsh castles.
Hold on to your seats – we have an exciting journey ahead in our time machine!
