Mae’r plant wedi setlo’n wych yn eu dosbarthiadau newydd yr wythnos yma. Ein thema y tymor yma yw Byd Nad yw’n Bod ac rydym yn barod wrthi’n mwynhau dysgu chwedl Cantre’r Gwaelod drwy symudiadau Pie Corbett. Bu i ni hefyd gwrdd â chymeriad rhyfedd iawn...Llechwffan! Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at weld cynlluniau’r plant ar gyfer creu model o Llechwffan yn y dosbarth. Yn ystod yr hanner tymor yma, byddwn hefyd yn dysgu am hanes Tryweryn, gan ystyried safbwyntiau wahanol bobl a gafodd eu heffeithio yn y 1960au. Cawn astudio ddarnau o waith gan wahanol artistiaid yn cyfleu’r digwyddiad cyn creu darn o waith Celf eu hunain. Fel rhan o’n hastudiaethau Cerdd, byddwn yn defnyddio ein dealltwriaeth o’r elfennau cerddorol i gyfansoddi darnau cerdd ein hunain i gyfleu wahanol ddigwyddiadau ac emosiynau. Un grŵp y byddwn yn ffocysu arno fydd y Big Leaves. Beth am i chi wrando ar eu caneuon adref a gweld pa un yw eich holl gân? Edrychwn ymlaen at gael dianc i fyd ffuglen a dychmygol a fyddai’n ein sbarduno gyda gwaith ysgrifennu creadigol. Mae gennym hanner tymor prysur o’m blaen!
The children have settled well into their new classes this week. Our topic this term is ‘Out of this World’ and we have already been enjoying using Pie Corbett (learning through movements) to help us learn the Legend of Cantre’r Gwaelod. We have also met a rather strange creature....Llechwffan! We look forward to seeing the children’s plans for the models of Llechwffan they will be creating in class. During this half term, we will be learning about the history of Tryweryn, studying the various viewpoints of people affected in the 1960s. We’ll have the opportunity to study the work of various artists depicting the events, before then creating our own artwork. As part of our Music studies , we will be using our understanding of the musical elements to compose our own music, reflecting events and emotions. One particular group that we will be focusing on will be the Big Leaves. Why not listen to some of their songs at home and choose your favourite? We look forward to escaping to fictional and imaginative worlds which will inspire some creative writing. We have a busy half term ahead!
