Mae plant Blwyddyn 3 a 4 yn llawn cyffro a brwdfrydedd am ein thema newydd y tymor hwn, sef Gwlyb a Gwyllt! Ers y gwyliau Pasg, maent wedi bod yn darllen llwyth o gerddi (gan feirdd enwocaf Cymru) am y tywydd, gan ddatblygu eu talentau barddoni eu hunain. Cafwyd ymdrech ardderchog gyda’r cerddi – da iawn chi blant. Rydym hefyd wedi bod yn arbrofi gyda gwahanol gyfryngau Celf er mwyn cynrychioli gwahanol fathau o ddŵr – wel am hwyl ( …a dwylo glas!)
Wythnos yma, rydym wedi bod yn dysgu am wahanol fathau o dywydd eithafol megis corwyntoedd, llifogydd, a tornados. Rydym wedi bod yn defnyddio’r wal Geirio Gwych i’n helpu i ysgrifennu taflen wybodaeth am un math o dywydd eithafol. Rydym wrth ein boddau yn ystod ein sesiwn Geirio Gwych wythnosol; mae’n braf ysgrifennu dan olau canwyll a gyda cherddoriaeth Mozart yn atseinio drwy’r dosbarthiadau. Mae’r grawnwin arbennig hefyd yn plesio - wrth gwrs!
Roedd hi’n braf mynd allan wythnos yma i chwarae rownderi – y tro cyntaf i ambell un o Flwyddyn 3! Gobeithio y gwnaiff yr haul wenu arnom eto am wythnosau i ddod, yn enwedig wrth i ni edrych ymlaen at y Mabolgampau!
Wrth gwrs, uchafbwynt mis Ebrill i Flwyddyn 4 oedd eu hymweliad â Glan Llyn! Ewch i’r rhan ‘Newyddion’ o’r wefan i weld lluniau o’u hynt a’u helynt ym Mala.
Welcome to Year 3 and 4’s first blog!
Our Year 3 and 4 pupils are full of enthusiasm and excitement for our new topic this term, which is Wet and Wild! Already, the children have engaged in this topic whole-heartedly, reading a wide range of poetry (from famous Welsh poets) on the theme of the weather. They then worked hard on their own poetry writing skills, writing simple poetry about the different types of weather. Well done! We have also been experimenting with various Art materials and mediums, such as paint and pastels, to convey different types of water. We all enjoyed expressing our creative sides, and were able to clean the blue paint off most of the tables…!
This week, we have been learning about the different types of extreme weather around the world, e.g. tornados, hurricanes and tsunamis. We have been using our Geirio Gwych/Big Write wall to help us write an information sheet on one type of extreme weather. The children (and teachers) are in their element during our Big Write sessions; they love writing creatively in candle light, with Mozart’s music echoing across the classrooms. It’s no surprise that they also enjoy the extra special grapes shared – they go down a treat!
We made the most of the sunshine this week by going out to play our first game of rounders this year – the first rounders game ever for a few of Year 3! Hopefully, the sun will shine down on us again for weeks to come, especially with the Mabolgampau on the horizon!
Of course, Year 4’s recent highlight was their visit to Glan Llyn! Go to our ‘News’ page to see pictures of their adventures in Bala.
