Mae tymor yr haf wedi cyrraedd ac o'r diwedd rydym wedi cael cip ar ychydig o heulwen hefyd! Yma ym Mlwyddyn 3 a 4 rydym wedi mynd i afael ar ein thema yn syth, gan ganolbwyntio ar y Sw. Rydym wedi bod yn mynegi ein barn ar gael Sw yn Nhreffynnon - ac ar ol cryn dipyn o waith trafod ac ymchwilio , mae mwyafrif Bl 3a4 yn erbyn cynllun o'r fath! Wythnos yma, buom yn brysur yn gweithio ar brosiect rhifedd; buom yn edrych ar bamffled gwybodaeth er mwyn trefnu trip i Sw Gaer, gan gyfrifo costau'r diwrnod. Yn ychwanegol i hyn, buom yn creu map o'n sw delfrydol gan nodi cyfesurynnau y gwahanol ardaloedd o fewn y sw. Bu ambell un ohonom yn crafu ein pen gyda'r dasg ymresymu wrth i ni geisio lleoli gwahanol anifeiliaid i sw, ond roedd yn gyfle da i ni feddwl am yr ochr mathemategol a'r ochr 'byd-real' o gynllunio sw.
Uchafbwynt y tymor hyd yn hyn oedd plannu'r hadau rocedi a gawsom gan Tim Peake. Mae bod yn rhan o'r arbrawf yma wir yn gyfle unigryw, ac rydym yn edrych ymlaen i weld canlyniadau'r arbrawf wrth i'r hadau ddechrau tyfu dros yr wythnos nesaf! Rydym hefyd wedi bod yn plannu gwahanol lysiau yn ein ardal garddio tu allan - rhaid croesi bysedd am ddigon o heulwen (ac ychydig o law wrth gwrs!) iddynt dyfu nawr!
Well well, the Summer term is here and we are finally seeing some sun! We are already thoroughly engaged with our Heads and Tails theme, concentrating first on Zoos. Following some research and plentyn of classroom discussion, we have realised that most of Year 3 and 4 would be against building a zoo near Holywell. We have also been involved in an interesting project calculating the cost of a trip to Chester Zoo, as well as drawing our own 'ideal zoo' map, using co-ordinates to note the locations of various attractions. Many of us were deep in thought during our reasoning task this week, where we had a list of different animal attractions to locate within a grid. The attractions needed a certain amount of space each, therefore we used our grid to plan it all out.The group discussions during these tasks were very interesting; many mathematical and 'real-life' reasoning skills were used and developed.
The highlight so far might be planning the rocket seeds we have recieved from Tim Peake. We can't wait to see the results from this 'out of this world' experiment! We have also been planting various vegetables in our raised beds - let's hope there'll be plenty of sunshine for them to grow!
