Mae’r plant wedi bod yn brysur yn edrych ar wahanol dywydd o gwmpas y byd. Maent wedi cofnodi faint o law fu’n disgyn yma ar y buarth bach a chofnodi’r tymheredd yn ddyddiol. Mwynhaodd y plant sesiynau creadigol wrth iddynt greu ysgytiadau glaw a ffyn gwynt gan ddefnyddio deunyddiau naturiol.
Yma yn yr Uned ‘dan 5 oed, mae cyffro a phrysurdeb wedi llenwi’r dosbarthiadau ym mis Rhagfyr. Mae Carwyn a Carys y corachod wedi bod yn brysur iawn yn gosod tasgau hwylus i’r plant. Llwyddodd plant y Dosbarth Derbyn i ysgrifennu dyddiadur dyddiol Carwyn wrth gofnodi’r holl dasgau cyffrous. Rydym wedi bod yn brysur yn ymarfer ffurfio a threfnu rhifau wrth greu calendr Adfent… ac wrth gwrs cyfri yn ôl i weld sawl cwsg tan diwrnod Nadolig! Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at wahodd y plant yn ôl i’r ysgol ar ôl y gwyliau gyda thema newydd: Cartrefi. The children have been busy looking at different types of weather. We looked at the weather here in Holywell and all over the world. The children really enjoyed recording the rain fall and temperature. They created a rain maker and a wind stick using natural objects from around the school in our creative sessions, and they had fun as they acted as a Weather Reporter. Here in the Under 5’s Unit, excitement has filled the classrooms during the build up to Christmas. Our Elves have returned this year with lots of exciting tasks for the children. The children in our reception class noted all of these exciting tasks and activities in a daily diary. We have enjoyed building Santa a sleigh in our outdoor area as news came that Santa’s sleigh had broken! When we spoke to Santa via TEAMS, he was very grateful for all the children’s ideas so that he could fix his sleigh. We have been busy practising forming and ordering numbers as we created our advent calendar…. and of course, counting backwards as we count down the sleeps to Christmas. We hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas. We look forward to welcoming all the children back to a new theme in January: Houses and Homes. Rydym wedi bod yn brysur dros ben yn ystod yr hanner tymor cyntaf!
Dechreuon ni'r hanner tymor yn araf, gan sicrhau fod ein disgyblion i gyd yn teimlo'n hapus ac yn ddiogel. Rydym wedi siarad llawer am ein teimladau ac ein hemosiynau. Buan rydym wedi dod i weld fod y plant yn hapus i ddychwelyd i drefn a strwythur ysgol. Hyfryd yw gweld disgyblion y Derbyn gyda'i gilydd unwaith eto a theimlo rhan o'n teulu Gwenffrwd. Mae plant y Meithrin wedi setlo yn fendigedig. Dechrau gwych i'r flwyddyn addysgol. Mae ein thema 'Pwy ydw i?' wedi bod yn llawer o hwyl, hyd yma. Rydym wedi dysgu llawer amdanom ni ein hunain ac ein gilydd. Yn ein sesiynau Iaith, rydym wedi dysgu amdanom ni, ein teuluoedd, ein cyrff a dylanwad Addysg Gorfforol ar ein cyrff. Yn ystod yr wythnosau diwethaf, rydym wedi mwynhau stori Yr Hugan Fach Goch. Rydym wedi defnyddio dull Pie Corbett i greu symudiadau i gofio'r stori. Hyfryd yw gweld plant y Derbyn yn defnyddio geirfa a brawddegau o'r stori wrth greu storiâu eu hunain. Roedd y plant i gyd wrth eu boddau yn creu map stori enfawr o'r stori. Mae pawb wedi bod am daith dychmygol trwy'r goedwig gan ddilyn y llwybr stori. Da iawn chi! Yn ein sesiynau mathemateg, rydym wedi cyfri bysedd, mesur traed a chymharu taldra. Rydym wedi creu graff i ddangos lliw gwallt a llygaid y plant. Wythnos yma, rydym wedi derbyn llythyr a pharsel gan yr Hugan Fach Goch. Bydd y plant yn mwynhau ymateb iddi ac ymchwilio beth sydd yn y bocs. Hanner Tymor prysur ond hapus. Rydym yn falch iawn o'r plant i gyd am fwynhau dysgu. Diolch i chi gyd am eich cydweithrediad parhaus. We have been incredibly busy during the first half term! We began the term slowly, ensuring our pupils were feeling happy and safe. We have talked a lot about our feelings and emotions. It didn’t take long for us to realise that all they wanted was structure and school routine! It has been wonderful seeing our Reception pupils reunite and feel part of their Gwenffrwd family once again. Our phased return was a success and our Nursery pupils have settled in so quickly. A great start to the year! Our topic ‘Who am I? ' this term is turning out to be a great deal of fun! We have learnt a lot about ourselves and each other. In literacy sessions we have enjoyed learning about us, our family, parts of our body and how our body changes during P. E. Over the last couple of weeks, we have enjoyed the story of the Little Red Riding Hood and learnt actions to help remember the story. Our reception class children are using the words and phrases they have learnt when they are creating their own stories. Da iawn chi! Using the enormous story map they all helped create, they have all been going on an adventure through the forest. In our mathematics sessions, we have counted our fingers, measured our feet and compared heights. We created a graph to show how many children have blue/ green/ brown eyes. This week, we have received a letter and a parcel from Little Red Riding Hood. The children will have an exciting week responding to her. A busy but happy half term, lots of giggles and fun! We are very proud of all our pupils and we know they have progressed so much already this term. Thank you everyone for your continued support. Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at groesawu’r disgyblion yn ôl i’r ysgol ac yn awyddus i ddechrau ar ein thema newydd sef ‘Ble ydw i’n byw?’. Wythnos yma, bydd y plant yn trafod beth maent yn gwybod am ble maent yn byw a beth hoffant nhw ddysgu.
We are looking forward to welcoming our pupils back to school and are keen to start our new theme: ‘Where do I live?’. This week we will be planning our activities for the next half term- we will find out what they already know about where they live and what they would like to learn about. Rydym wedi cael dechrau gwych i’r flwyddyn addysgol newydd. Croeso mawr i blant newydd y Dosbarth Meithrin ac i blant y Dosbarth Derbyn sydd nawr yn yr ysgol drwy’r dydd. Mae pawb wedi setlo yn dda i’w dosbarth newydd.
Ein thema am y tymor yma yw ‘Pwy ydw i?’ Dechreuodd y plant gyda llawer o gwestiynau i ni geisio darganfod yr atebion iddynt. Rydym wedi dechrau trafod a hunanymwybyddiaeth a hunan-barch. Mae’r plant wedi bod yn brysur yn creu deintydd yn yr ardal chwarae rôl wrth i ni ddathlu pen-blwydd Cynllun Gwen yn 10 oed gan ddysgu llawer am ei dannedd, yn barod. Rydym yn edrych ‘mlaen i wahodd deintydd i’n dosbarth wythnos nesaf. A big welcome to all the children to the ‘Dosbarth Meithrin’ and to the children in the ‘Dosbarth Derbyn’- being in school all day. We have had a fantastic start to the school year. All of the children have settled well into their new routines! Our question for this term is ‘Who am i?’. We started the theme by asking lots of questions that we are going to find out the answers to throughout the term- all about us! We have started developing our self-awareness and self-esteem with a lot of fun games and activities. The children have been busy planning and creating a ‘dentist’ in our role play area as we are celebrating Designed to Smile’s 10th birthday- learning all about our teeth. We are looking forward to a visit from a dentist next week to help answer some more of our questions. Ar brynhawn Mawrth poeth aeth plant y Dosbarth Derbyn a Meithrin ar y bws ar eu taith addysgol i Ddyffryn Maesglas. Bu i Swyddog o’r ganolfan ein tywys am dro drwy’r goedwig gan ein annog i ddefnyddio 4 allan o’r 5 synnwyr! Doeddem ddim yn blasu dim y tro yma! Roeddem yn stopio yma ac acw ac yn gwrando ar y synnau o’n cwmpas – y dail yn sisial, yr adar yn canu! Cafodd y plant gwpan yr un i gasglu gwahanol bethau o’u cwmpas a darn o bren bach i wasgu’r cyfan er mwyn rhyddhau’r arogl – roedd gan pob cwpan arogl unigryw. Tasg nesaf oedd i grwpiau o blant gasglu pethau oedd yn cydfynd gyda’r gair oedd o dan eu dysgl – e.e sych a gwlyb, caled a meddal, llyfn a pigog. Cawsom brynhawn hyfryd – pawb wedi mwynhau yn fawr!
On a hot Tuesday afternoon, the children of the Dosbarth Derbyn and Meithrin went on their educational trip to the Greenfield Valley. A Ranger from the centre guided us around through the woods and encouraged us all to use 4 out of our 5 senses! We didn’t get to taste anything this time! As we walked we stopped to listen to the sounds around us – the leaves rustling, the birds singing. The children were all given a cup each to collect different items and a small piece of wood to squash them all to release the juices – each cup had a unique smell! The next task was to collect items to match the words on the bottom of their container e.g. wet and dry, hard and soft, smooth and prickly! An enjoyable afternoon – everyone enjoyed! Rydym wedi bod yn brysur yn cynllunio gyda’r plant yr wythnos yma – diolch i chi fel plant a rhieni am eich syniadau cyffrous. Rydym yn edrych ymlaen i ddechrau’n gwaith gyda storiau megis ‘Waldo a’i We Wych’ a’r ‘Lindysyn Llwglyd Iawn’. Hoffwn i’ch plentyn ddod ag eitemau yn ymwneud a’r thema i’r ysgol i’w dangos a’u trafod.
We have been busy this week planning some activities for our new theme – thank you to you as children and parents for your varied and exciting ideas. We are looking forward to starting our new theme – our stories will include ‘Waldo a’i We Wych’ and ‘Lindysyn Llwglyd Iawn’. We encourage the children to bring items related to the theme to school to show and discuss. Rydym wedi bod yn weithgar eto tymor yma yn astudio’r themau yma. Ein prif stori am yr hanner tymor cyntaf oedd ‘Y Tri Mochyn Bach’- cafodd y plant hwyl yn trefnu’r stori, chwarae rôl, gwneud mygydau ac adeiladu tai yn yr ardaloedd. Buom yn gwneud gweithgareddau amrywiol ar gyfer dathlu Dydd Gwyl Dewi, Sul y Mamau, Masnach Deg, Diwrnod y Llyfr a’r Pasg fel y gwelwch yn ein lluniau.
We have been busy again this term studying these themes. Our main story was ‘The Three Little Pigs’- the children had lots of fun sequencing the story, role playing, making masks and building houses in the areas. During this half term we have had many important celebrations – St David’s Day, Mothers Day, Fairtrade, World Book Day and Easter. We hope you enjoy looking at the photos. |
